Meet Jocelyn

Jocelyn Denné began her journey as a dancer at the age of three and started competing at the age of six. She trained at a prestigious dance studio in New Jersey where she learned a wide range of styles including ballet, tap, jazz, hiphop, contemporary, and musical theatre. She has earned numerous accoldaes including choreography awards, convention scholarships, and she was a 1st place title winner. Over the past four years, Jocelyn has served as a dance assistant, working closely with younger dancers while continuing to grow as a performer and choreographer.

Currently, Jocelyn is a rising Sophmore BFA Dance Major at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts. She fell in love with Rutgers the moment she was accepted into the 2023 Rutgers Summer Dance Conservatory where she had the opportunity to grow as an artist. During her first year she had the opportunity to learn from acclaimed choreographers including DeAngelo Blanchard, Alessandra Williams, and Brad Beakes. Her collegiate performance credits include being cast in “Steps in the Street” (1936), set by a member from the Martha Graham Comapny and “Double View” by Pam Tanowitz. Jocelyn also attended two workshops, one taught by Dancing With The Stars pro, Brandon Armstrong, and the other taught by the dance captain of MJ the Musical at Alvin Ailey.

Jocelyn is passionate about inspiring young dancers through positive mentorship, strong technical training, and creative expression, and she is excited to continue sharing her love of dance with the next generation.
