Meet Emily Rascon

Emily Rascon began her dance journey at the age of five and, by seven, was a member of a prestigious competition team, competing until she was 12. During this time, she developed her foundational skills and passion for dance, which led her to continue her training at the New Jersey School of Ballet under Carolyn C. Clark. She performed alongside the main company as a member of the New Jersey Ballet Junior Company in productions such as The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Don Quixote. Emily trained with esteemed instructors, including Miami City Ballet founder Edward Villella, and attended renowned summer intensives such as American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensive, the French Academie of Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet School, and BalletX’s Summer Intensive.

In 2021, Emily earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia on an artistic scholarship. She trained with distinguished faculty including Michael Sheridan, Anne White, Martha Chamberlain, and Amy Aldridge, all former members of Pennsylvania Ballet, and Gary Jeter, former company member of Complexions, Philadanco, and BalletX. She has also had the opportunity to be in works by Douglas Becker and Helen Pickett, both former dancers for Ballett Frankfurt under director William Forsythe. During her time at UArts she also had the honor of teaching at The Rock School for Dance Education.

After graduation, Emily performed with the Ajkun Ballet Theatre in New York City and returned as a guest artist for New Jersey Ballet's Nutcracker. Following her performance career, Emily discovered her true passion for teaching and choreography. She began teaching and choreographing in New Jersey, where she continues to inspire and train the next generation of dancers. Emily founded East Coast Dance Arts in 2026 and looks forward to many more years of sharing her love of dance with her students and colleagues.
